DPRK should create more powerful carrier rockets - WPK
PYONGYANG, December 25 (Itar-Tass) — North Korea needs to “orbit operational satellites for various purposes, including communications, as well as to create more powerful launch vehicles,” says a congratulatory telegram of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) to a large group of scientists, engineers and workers who participated in the December 12 launch of the Kwangmyongsong-3 satellite from the Sohae launch site, published on Tuesday. The country’s ruling party called the successful orbiting of the satellite “the great implementation of the ambitious plan developed under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un” and “the most important event in the 5,000-year long history of the Korean nation.”
The WPK Central Committee also expressed confidence that the scientists and technologists, as well as all the people of the DPRK “will work hard being loyal to the party and its leader, as well as showing ardent patriotism.”
All specialists who participated in the preparation for the launch of the Unha-3 rocket with the satellites were awarded the Hero of the DPRK title with the gold medal Hammer and Sickle, as well as the Order of the National Flag, First Class. The Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly (Parliament) of the country published the corresponding decree.
The North’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that this group “has made a tremendous contribution to the growth of the international prestige and influence of the DPRK, instilled in the people and the army of the republic the confidence in the ultimate victory of the Juche revolution.”
The successful launch of the satellite, the KCNA stressed, “dealt a sledge-hammer blow at the hostile to the DPRK forces that are trying to block the victorious advance of the country.”
