MAKHACHKALA, November 22 (Itar-Tass) - Law enforcers killed a member of an
armed gang, attempting to plant an explosive device on a highway in the Buinaksk
district of Dagestan.
“The incident took place on Saturday at 21.30 on a highway, running to
Buinaksk between the villages of Karamakhi and Chabanmakhi,” Itar-Tass learnt on
Sunday from a duty officer of the Buinaksk district police precinct.
According to the source, “the gunman tried to plant a homemade explosive
device at a roadside, but was spotted by policemen, engaged in a search
operation”. He opened fire at police officers with a submachine gun and was
destroyed by return fire.
